I would say that it depends on the Niche you focus on. Many other methods are available to run successful affiliate marketing without website. The list is long but I will review here only the most important that work for most of the campaign.

So, if you are absolutely not ready to build your website or Blog but decided to start an online business, you have to know that it will involve anyway some writing production from you (directly from you or outsourced). Now let’s discuss the best way to do affiliate marketing without a website.

Email Marketing

This is a very direct and efficient approach; people can click on your affiliate links present in your emails and can go directly to the merchant website to purchase the products/service. So, you can promote your affiliate products and you don’t need to bother about your website.

In the emails should contain the introduction about the product you are promoting and your affiliate links. The emails should be interesting (your personal test,) and brief.

To be successful with this method you must expand your contact list. Use as many sources as you can to grab new email addresses of people. This can be done using online forums, chat forums and even the social network like Facebook and Myspace. To get good results your email list should count a few hundred contacts, at least.

BIG WARNING: do not spam. All the people in your list must know you, otherwise you might be blocked by people and end-up identify as a Spammer by the email networks.

Offline Promotion

Affiliate marketing without website doesn’t necessarily mean low exposure! Many affiliate don’t think about this one, but the promotion of you link can be done offline, especially if you offer bonuses. You can use classified ads, flyers, etc. Likewise the email marketing, using the classified ads of a regional or national paper offer a large and direct exposure.

Another offline promotion can be networking: take part of (or organize) seminar or event related to your affiliate products. Be social with people and promote your offer (direct approach) and/or enlarge your email list (indirect approach).

Look for at least three forums with a high page rank, where people discuss topic connected to your affiliate products that are related to your product and have high page rank. Register on it start some discussion in the section of the forum where maximum people are involved. Just post questions there or answer some questions of other members. But beware; don’t put any promotion text in the body of your posts, it’s not allowed. Instead you can to put your signature at the end of your post, which will contain name and your affiliate links.

You like writing but starting an ebook scare you, then the article marketing is for you. Like that, if you give the right recommendations, people will come back to you. So, yes, you can start with direct promotion but as soon as you can buy a domain name and create a blog.

How to find a Niche market?

Affiliate Marketing is a great and lucrative activity if done properly. As an entrepreneur with limited budget (even if you have money, you can certainly not compete with some leading companies), the major part of your Affiliate Marketing should be focus on Niche Market! Before to go further and explain how to find a Niche market, I would like to clarify this concept.

A Niche market is a group of people interested in a topic, or searching for a solution to a problem, and not being able to find a lot of relevant results. Most of the time the Niche is a sub part of a larger industry.

And you know what is interesting for your business; you can take advantage of a Niche and receive low-cost and highly relevant traffic for your Niche marketing website that answers to their problem. This audience is easier to target compare with the boarder topics as understand and see clearly the needs.

You have to keep in mind one big point about Niche market, at the moment advertiser use only 15 to 20% of all keywords available. So, it literately offers you millions of keywords to focus on. As I said earlier, the Niche is a sub category of an industry, so the keywords follow this logic.

Now, let’s see the process to find a Niche market. Say you are looking to promote a product within the furniture industry. Obviously the search term “TV” is not a Niche market, too broad and almost impossible to convert. So let’s dig down:

  • TV
  • LCD TV, Plasma TV, Cathodic TV
  • 32” LCD TV, 42” LCD TV, 72” LCD TV
  • White 72” LCD TV, 72” LCD TV with DVD player, 72” 3D LCD TV
  • 72” 3D LCD TV with Blu-ray player….
  • …… and so on.

In this example, I started with a keyword as broad as TV and expanded upon it, digging down several tiers until we found a niche.  “72” 3D LCD TV” is a niche, but “72” 3D LCD TV with Blu-ray player ” is an even more targeted niche.  You can take any keyword and break it down into smaller niches to obtain the first component of a “niche market”. I’m not saying that you should go out and sell giant TV with 3D glasses, but this is how you can dig down to find niche markets.

Personally I do this exercise with my wife. We seat 30min and do a brainstorming, drop on paper or on the screen all that come to our mind. The results can be funny and very far from the starting point.
